For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Allegra, the Marketing Coordinator at MINES & Associates. One of the reasons I love working at MINES is the culture here. I always feel encouraged to follow my dreams, challenge myself, and grow and develop as a person (not just an employee). I have had the privilege of being able to take two overseas trips (one to Egypt and one to Tajikistan), while working at MINES and will be embarking on my third on Wednesday 6/24.
I will be heading to the south of India for five weeks with my sister. We will be volunteers with ASTEP (Artists Striving to End Poverty, www.asteponline.org) and will be teaching core subjects, general choir, piano and cello lessons (I’m a pianist, my sister is a cellist) and other subjects as needed to the students at Shanti Bhavan (near Banglore). We are beyond excited to have the opportunity to help underprivileged children in India, and to be able to share this experience with each other as sisters.
As you can see from my experience, MINES is truly a visionary company that values its employees. And we just happen to be in the business of valuing other organizations’ employees as well!
